Southern Oregon Living: Are You a "Bean" Buyer?

Are You a "Bean" Buyer?

Are You a "Bean" Buyer? Are You a "Bean" Buyer?  Coffee beans that is!  The price of coffee beans may jump in the near future, due to the fact that the nation's production of coffee has dropped to a 33-year low.  Excess rain is primarily to blame, but the scarce use of fertilizers is also a reason for lower yields.

Just like homes and land for sale, when there is a high demand for something, and a short supply, prices go up.  And considering the fact that coffee happens to be a staple of American life, it may be prudent to not delay your purchase.

So, if you are a regular coffee bean buyer, perhaps you should stock up on your favorite brand of coffee beans right away.  Buy your coffee beans today, and don't forget to refrigerate them for longer storage.

campesinoI have a great suggestion for a coffee supplier. My good friend Tripp Pomeroy co-owns Cafe Campesino - a fair trade co. that ships all over the US. It is sooo fresh roasted. My husband and I love getting our box of coffee in the mail and using our french press every morning for the perfect cup! We just got our first 2lb. bag of their new fair trade organic Brasil Viennese roast - whole bean!Check it out - order yours at www.cafecampesino.com

PS - If you can order (from Cafe Campesino) or buy coffee as fast as you can drink it, this is best, however, if you wish to save coffee for later use, be sure to FREEZE rather than refrigerate for better taste.

Our supply in Naples on the water is built out and limited.  Our sales have started to jump.  I tell buyers, you better jump in now...cause this commondity is going up again too. Good analogy!

Melinda...

That does it. I'm stocking up. How long do coffee beans last on the shelf? I gotta know because I gotta have my Joe!

Melinda--I love coffee, but I hesitate to stock up.  My parents used to do that--depression mentality.  Later when they had to buy it was major sticker shock to pay the higher price.

Hello Melinda and I am a bean lover and as for the price going up in the future, I think that everything is going to go up except peoples wages!

Melinda, Beans, beans, the more you grind, the less you'll find! Thanks for the heads up on my favorite morning treat! We go through them like mad!
