Southern Oregon Living: Multi-tasker Mania - Juggle This

Multi-tasker Mania - Juggle This

Multi-tasker Multi-tasker Mania - Juggle This!  I was driving home from Cali yesterday and I saw something that I just couldn't believe.  And, what to my wondering eyes did appear... a lady in a car next to me, driving, smoking, talking on her cell phone, and plucking the hairs from her chinny chin chin with tweezers, all at the same time!

I know we are living in a world of fast and instant everything, but this sort of thing gives new meaning to multi-tasker mania.  I wish I had my camera right at that moment, I would have... oh wait... I would have been driving, gaulking, and taking pictures all at the same time!  Guilty as charged.

Perhaps there is a reason our creator only gave us two hands.  Focusing on one task at a time, allows us to give our complete and "quality" attention to that task.  Anything "less-than" is exactly that, less than.  If you are feeling slightly tempted to juggle a multitude of things all at the same time, think about this for a moment... who is watching?  Perhaps you may end up being the subject of a post like this, or possibly featured in a crazy YouTube video.  I can only imagine :)

Melinda, that is a funny image, but she sounds like an accident waiting to happen.

Melinda,

I have found some people who wait to talk on the phone until they start their car and get on the road.  I think it is a psychological addiction liking smoking.  I'm awake, I need to smoke; I just ate, I need to smoke; I'm driving; I need to smoke.  Before cell phones, the first thing that one would do upon starting their car was to turn on the radio, but the first thing they do now is to start gabbing away on the phone.

. . . . So she was plucking her chin hairs . . . .

The funny thing is...I can multi task like nobody's business in my car...but ask me to remember what day of the week it is or my middle name and I am totally lost.

Really...plucking chin hairs?  Must be peri-menopausal.  I feel her pain...  However...I try to keep my chin plucking within the confines of my home.  :)

Where are the cops when you need them?  I only look the wrong way and a cop is all over me.

Melinda, We're even faster here.  I've seen people reading the paper (honest!), talking on a cell phone and having breakfast while driving...and the women are applying makeup.  It's unbelievable and very scary when you see them on the road!

Oh too bad you didn't have your camera.  Glad to know I"m not the only chin plucker.  But only behind closed doors.  Bathroom doors that is.

And here I thought all that stuff I do in the car was perfectly normal... all but the make-up.  ;-)

And the chin plucking...?  You gotta be kidding me. :-)
