Southern Oregon Living: Oh Happy Day!

Oh Happy Day!

Oh Happy DayOh Happy Day!  Today, I will be making the trek (by car) from LA back to Oregon.  I am not happy about the 10+ hour drive.  Nor am I happy having to say good-bye to my family and my little grand-baby.  Although, I am very grateful I was able to spend a week with family and friends in sunny Southern California.

I have something else to be happy about today. Out of the 6 short sales I currently have in escrow, one finally closed escrow today and another got accepted by the lender.  Oh Happy Day!  So today, I will be singing for 10+ hours all the way home to Grants Pass, Oregon.  I hope it's still legal to sing and drive at the same time in Cali :)

10+ hours . . . WOW -- you put the pedal to the metal!!  It takes me at least 15-18 hours!  Drive SAFE!

Yahoo!... Long drives can be a pain, but I often get some of my best work done. I'm prone to sessions of loud singing and I talk to myself a lot too. Glad you got some family time in...

I use to drive Seattle to Oakland a lot back in the 80's when I was in grad school. I've also made a lot a road trips throughout Oregon for work, Seattle to Portland, Salem, Roseburg, Grants Pass, Medford and over on the coast to Coos Bay, Tillamook, Seaside, Astoria, and St Helens... I love loading up the iPod so I have hours and hours of music, audio books, podcasts, etc.

I think it's still legal to sing and drive, but I heard there was a bill before the Cali legislature where you're going to have to pay an entertainment tax (haha)...

Now, let's get those other 5 short sales closed!... Happy Holidays.

I remember Oprah had difficulty with her friend, Gail, singing on their road trip but Oprah won't be there so all will be happy.

You can sing all you want.  People will just think you are being a good girl and talking on the phone hands free.  And you look way too young to be a grandmother.

Thanks everyone ~ I made it home safe and sound!  And, I didn't even get "pulled-over" for singing.  But, I almost had a "close-encounter" for too much pedal to the metal :)
