The Naked Eye - Confessions of a Naked Blogger

A Naked HeartPerhaps I should have titled this post... The Sixth Sense of a Naked Blogger.  Sometimes I see things other people don't see... it's kind of a Sixth Sense.  I don't see dead people or anything paranormal, but I do have a keen ability to see things as they really are.  Call it intuition, call it visionary or call it good ole' fashioned common sense.  I can usually cut to the chase and evaluate situations and circumstances at face value.

Yesterday, I had the dubious task of interviewing several candidates for an Association Executive position.  I currently serve as the President of my local MLS Board and as a Director of my Realtor Association Board.  What that means is I spend countless (and I do mean countless) volunteer hours behind the curtain evaluating contracts, vendors, systems, budgets, employees, agendas, committees, services, strategic planning and implementation of such.  All for the good of the Association.  It's not an easy task... and yet, I've been entrusted to serve in the best interest of my colleagues and for the betterment of our Association.  It's a job that I don't take lightly.

It's political (which I hate), it's overwhelming (which I hate), it's painful (which I hate), it's time-consuming (which I hate), and it's downright exhausting (which I hate).  But, someone's gotta do it.  What I have to offer in my little sphere of the world... is PASSION.  I'm passionate about life, I'm passionate about vision, I'm passionate about change and I'm just plain passionate about being passionate!  I think you get the picture.

So... why am I blogging about this subject today?  Because today, I had the arduous task of looking someone in the naked eye and telling them the painful truth.  The truth often hurts.  However, when truth is expressed with love and compassion (and with hugs from the author) it can hurt a lot less.  I don't have a PhD in Psychology, but I do understand the human heart.  And when kindness is expressed in thoughtful doses with a heartfelt delivery, the world can be a better place.  So, the next time you look someone in the naked eye... just remember they have a heart too!  Don't break it... embrace it.  We all have a naked need to feel loved.
