The 2009 Major League Baseball World Series brings back memories from 1 year ago, when my son-in-law and his brother attended a playoff game between the Phillies and the Dodgers in Los Angeles. I will never forget that night!
I received a call from my daughter, who said that her husband's brother was in the hospital with a broken neck. Apparently, a drunken "Phillies" fan had fallen over a railing at Dodger Stadium and landed on top of my son-in-law's brother (a few levels below). The drunken fan walked away with a broken wrist and my son-in-law's brother was wheeled away on a stretcher with a broken neck. It was a sad and tragic event that changed this young man's life forever!
We continue to pray for this young man as he struggles with simple every day tasks. It is certainly a wake-up call for all of us, who at times, take our health and the simple things for granted. Remember to cherish what matters!
