Kindred Spirits in the Rain. I've been asked a few times about my reference to Kindred Spirits here in the Rain. If you've ever watched the 'Anne of Green Gables' series, you know exactly what I'm referring to. But, for those of you who haven't had that lovely pleasure, here's my simple definition of a Kindred Spirit (KS).
A Kindred Spirit... is someone you feel an instant connection with. You can laugh with them and cry with them and you never feel like you're being judged by them. Kindred Spirits are always there for you, celebrating your achievements and encouraging you when things go horribly wrong. A Kindred Spirit is very intuitive, so much so, they can often finish your thought or sentence. Sometimes they know you better than you know yourself.
On first meeting a Kindred Spirit, you feel like you've known them your whole life. Kindred Spirits feel a genuine love for people. They relate on a very deep and soulful level. There's a fluency and ease to their relationships and they communicate effortlessly. Kindred Spirits never try to fit a square peg in a round hole. They sense what you're talking about and they get you.
Kindred Spirits have a wicked sense of humor and they're not afraid to show their playful side. They can be silly and serious in the same conversation, which is what makes them so lovable. They make you smile and you crave their presence. You always know where you stand with a Kindred Spirit as they tend to wear their heart on their sleeve. They are kind, considerate, respectful, courteous and caring people.
Kindred Spirits are highly sought after souls... they can be the best of friends and a joy to know! When you find one, it's like finding a buried treasure. They make your life richer in every way. Do you know a few Kindred Spirits in the Rain? I do!
