Kickin' the Can Around on a Lazy Day! It's pretty rare that I don't have any pressing issues to deal with on a weekend, particularly a holiday weekend. Yesterday, I held an Open House from 1-3pm. I wore a cute sundress hoping I could catch a few rays outside while reading a good book. One of my former agents stopped by to say hello and the time just flew by as we sat in the backyard, shooting the breeze and catching up on life. Before I knew it... I had a tan!
Afterwards, I drove 30 miles to my favorite coffee shop, Mellelo Coffee Roasters, in Medford Oregon to enjoy a mocha. They're the best! Then I did something I rarely do... I found a random salon and had a pedicure and manicure. The most amazing thing happened... I was able to live without my phone, texting and email for 2 hours while being pampered. I should do that more often!
My evening was just as lovely... I enjoyed dinner with a friend at my favorite eclectic restaurant, Circle J Cafe, in Grants Pass. The name makes it sound like it's a ho-down kind of place, but it's not. They have wild neon pics with flashing red lights inside, with pictures of Jesus and Buddha hanging on a dark red wall, and all sorts of funky decor randomly scattered throughout the place. It's an engaging environment (which I like) and the food is always great.
Then I was off to the movies (thanks to a friend who encouraged me to learn how to use my DVR). I stayed up late (2am) watching a cool flick, Charlie St. Cloud. It was a bit of a tear-jerker, but inspirational for sure. I love those feel-good kind of movies... where the guy gets the girl in the end ;) I guess I'm a bit of a hopeless romantic when it comes to love.
