Doing Business in the Bathroom. When I was growing up, I remember my step-dad installing a phone in the bathroom. I was only 8 years old at the time, and in those days you never questioned your parents, so I never asked why. But, I always thought it was odd to have a phone in the bathroom.
These days, I get a kick from observing some of my agents odd behavior. It's no secret that I'm constantly on the prowl for 'naked' blogging material. That said, I put my agents on notice (years ago) that any strange or unusual behavior they exhibit may end up as the subject of one of my posts if they're not careful. I guess one of my agents didn't read the memo.
While sitting at the reception desk, I have a birds-eye view of the comings and goings nearby ;) After seeing a door delicately close, I heard 'someone' answer their cell phone (in the John)... saying, 'Hello, this is _ _ _ _ _.' My sorted thoughts... Oh My Gawd... Holy Cow... Is Nothing Sacred?
The walls are slightly paper thin in this old 1908' building, so you can hear every word! Which got me to thinking... how many of us are guilty as charged taking calls while doing business in the bathroom? Alright... I admit... I've done it once or twice... but not with clients! And on one funny occasion, I had a friend who began singing, 'Tinkle, Tinkle, Little Star' on the phone while waiting for me to finish my business... hilarious!
I know you must be thinking... It's a slow day at Real Estate Cafe... Indeed! I'm keeping myself amused with all sorts of oddities these days!
