Are You Running From Mediocrity? If Not, You Should Be.

Are You Running From Mediocrity? Are you running from mediocrity?  If not, you should be.

No more are the days of easy sales combined with ordinary service.  Expectations are on the rise and our performance should be as well.  ‘Getting by' is simply not a sufficient state of mind or being... it's ordinary and less than.  Times like these demand the extraordinary.

If your current state of mind is wearing you down, perhaps it's time for a pep talk.  Albert Einstein said the definition of insanity... is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.  Profound.

Are you running from mediocrity?  If not, you should be.  Here are a few simple steps to reach extraordinary results, both personally and professionally.

The First Step ~ Owning It.  Accept personal responsibility for your current state of being.  You can blame the market, you can blame your clients, you can blame your broker... but until you accept personal responsibility for your level of participation in things, your current state of being will not change.

The Second Step ~ Erase and Replace.  Erase the bad tapes (negative speak) playing inside your head and replace them with a different tune.  Then, and only then, you'll find a different result.  It may not be instantaneous, but your attitude will surely change and the rest will follow.

The Third Step ~ No Fence Post Sitting.  A decision to sit is a decision to remain stagnant.  Moving forward is a decision of fluency.  Don't be afraid to take a step in a different direction.  You'll get somewhere by continually moving, and your final destination may surprise you.

Last Step ~ To be, or not to be... Accountability!  To achieve better results, you must be willing to be accountable.  Develop a buddy system... a good friend, a colleague, a significant other... someone who can keep you in step.  Going the distance is always easier with a partner.  Don't go it alone!

Are you running from mediocrity?  If not, you should be.
