An Attitude of Gratitude

An Attitude of GratitudeAn attitude of gratitude... is easy to cultivate.  Just look around. I noticed a beautiful tree full of red/orange leaves lightly blowing in the wind this morning.  It was 45 degrees in the high desert, but I barely noticed the cold when I saw such gorgeous colors pop off the landscape.

I was especially thankful that one of my favorite breakfast places was open on Thanksgiving Day.  I felt sad for the waitresses and the cook... so I made a special point of expressing my gratitude for the lovely breakfast and I wished them well with their families for the rest of the day.

I'm in Los Angeles spending the day with family and friends. When I arrived at my daughter's home, I was surprised to find the turkey was already in the oven and the fixings were made.  I didn't have to lift a finger today... which is rare.  I had the luxury of waking a sleeping beauty (my grand-daughter Ellie) from her nap... and this chicky had a nice nap too.

As I look around the room of familiar faces, I'm feeling grateful. My 82 year-old dad just asked me if I like to get away from my job for awhile... I shook my head yes with a great big smile.  It's the simple things that bring the biggest smiles.  Today and every day, I have an attitude of gratitude.

May your Thanksgiving Day be filled with warmth and happiness!
