A Picture Worth a Thousand Words...

The Crooked House

A Picture Worth a Thousand Words... I was searching our MLS and stumbled on this photo of a home for sale in Southern Oregon.  I had to laugh at first, because the house is obviously leaning.  Or, was it the agent who was leaning?  Ooops!

It is definitely an attention getter, no doubt!  A brilliant marketing ploy, perhaps.  Just not sure the average Buyer, searching on the Internet, would think so (let alone the Seller).  Sometimes we forget to look at our marketing efforts through the Buyer's lens.  Do we see what they see?

Obviously, this is an attractive home, in spite of its crooked appearance.  But, how many times have we seen pictures of homes for sale on the MLS or Internet, where the interior photos are too dark, or the rooms look a bit dingy, or there is just too much "stuff" and clutter in the room?  Remember, the first photo a Buyer sees online, generally sets the first impression.  And, with so many homes to choose from, it's important to put our best "pics" forward.  Which, may require a course in Picture-Taking 101, or perhaps helping the Seller de-clutter and de-personalize the home for Picture Day.  Let's make sure that each picture is really worth a thousand words... positive words :)
