10 Ideas for a Better Blog in 2010. You don't have to be brilliant to create a better blog in 2010. You simply need to let your right brain marry your left brain, to produce some creative offspring that could quite possibly rejuvenate your blog and your real estate business in 2010.
While many of us have a natural tendency toward one way of thinking, the two sides of our brain are constantly working together to create harmony in our every day lives. Our "right brain" tends to focus on the visual, and processes information in an intuitive and simultaneous way, looking first at the whole picture then the details. Our "left brain" is more verbal, processing information in an analytical and sequential way, looking first at the pieces then putting them together to get the whole picture.
In sort of an unfortunate fashion, I was able to grasp the left-brain, right-brain picture at a very young age. Many of you know, I grew up with a single-mother who had Multiple Sclerosis the majority of my life. She was an extremely coordinated left-handed woman. However, over time, the Multiple Sclerosis paralized the left side of her body and she could no longer write with her left hand. That did not stop her. My mother immediately picked up a pen and taught herself how to write with her right hand. At each milestone of her disease (from walking with a cane, to a walker, to a wheelchair), I watched my mother transform her debilitating disease into triumphant determination.
Determination is often the key to any success. I recently heard basketball star LeBron James quote his junior high school basketball coach, who said: "Discipline, not desire, determines our destiny." Certainly, this morsel of truth can apply to anything we set our minds to in this life. Blogging included! So, getting back to the 10 ideas for a better blog in 2010... practice engaging both sides of your brain, in order to better engage your audience.
