Real Estate Cafe - Breaking Free From The Giant

Real Estate Cafe - Breaking Free From The GiantReal Estate Cafe - Breaking Free From The Giant.  I finally did it... I've taken the leap of faith and started my own Real Estate Company, leaving the huge franchise (RE/MAX) behind.  Nothing bad to say about RE/MAX.  Some of my best professional years were with them.  But, it's time for a change.

For many years, I've had a passion for doing things sort of out-of-the-box.  I suppose I've bucked the corporate world more than once in my life.  Now, I'm on my own and already loving it.  My vision is clear, to create a boutique style real estate office that offers a bit of ambiance and atmosphere (no white walls or cubicles!).  Real Estate Cafe is just that place.

In these crazy economic times, many of my colleagues have asked; "Why would you start your own company now?"  The answer is; Why not!  I have been paying RE/MAX over $20K a year for a 12x11 space on the 2nd floor with views.  Granted, the views were great and so was the Brand.  But, when I sat down and analyzed where my business was coming from, I realized that it was from my own website, personal marketing and SEO, and not as a result of the Brand.  I know it's a gutsy move in this market, but I'm prepared to take my chances.  For now, I'm happy as a clam :)
